A cash rating or suggested cash rating is normally the cash limit insurance companies recognise and insure against in the event of a burglary. For example you will be normally covered for $10,000 worth of cash or $20,000 of jewellery. If you have a recognised alarm the coverage will double to $20,000 and $40,000 respectively.
